Program Overview

2026/2027

In 2025, WCAHA  phased out the traditional Learn to Play (LTP) program and introduced a new intramural league focused on fun, skill-building, and local play for ages 5–8. This in-house league replaces LTP and is designed to offer a more structured, engaging experience for young skaters and families. We are calling this program our "Spark program". Players must complete a Learn to Play or Learn to Skate class at the Bellingham Sportsplex before registering.

*U18/U21 Intramural

We are excited to announce a new U18/U21 Intramural Hockey Program for the upcoming season, designed for players born in 2005-2010. This program is a perfect opportunity for players who are looking to continue skating and playing hockey in a lower-commitment, fun environment.

This program is intended for players who may not be able to commit to the time and travel of a full-time competitive team, but still want to stay involved in the sport.

Here are the key details of the program:

  • Birth Years: 2005 - 2010
  • Ice Time: Games will be held once a week on Monday nights.
  • Cost: The season fee is $600.
  • USA Hockey: All participants are required to have a current USA Hockey number.
  • Jerseys: Jerseys will be provided for all registered players.

In addition to the weekly intramural games, players registered in this program will also be invited to participate in the following:

  • Age-appropriate WCAHA Stick & Pucks.
  • Occasional skill sessions (estimating 5 per season)
  • Periodic invitations to U18 practice sessions.

We believe this program will be a fantastic way for players to keep their skills sharp, enjoy the game with their friends, and maintain their connection to the hockey community.

2026/2027 League Teams

All teams, with exception to the intramural teams (Spark program), participate in league play with PCAHA (Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association), including home and away games throughout the season. Most teams play weekend games locally and in the Lower Mainland of BC.

U9 PCAHA: Our U9 PCAHA team is in addition to our Intramural Program (Spark program) and is designed to introduce players who will be moving up to U11 next year to full-ice games with offsides and icing. Players born in 2018 are strongly encouraged to sign up. Practices will be scheduled based on ice availability, and the team will play a PCAHA league schedule of 8–12 games, with games split between Bellingham and the Lower Mainland of BC. **Please note: This team fee will include intramural play (Spark program) as well. If your 2018 player does NOT want to travel and participate in PCAHA, sign up for only intramural teams.

C Level: Our C teams play one game a week and have two week night practices throughout the season.

A Level: Our A teams play two games a week. They have two consistent weeknight practices each week and have priority over weekday morning ice and extra weekend ice to get a third practice in. These teams are for players looking for a higher level of competition and commitment.

GOALIES: Full time goalies U11A and up will be credited 50% of their regular registration fee back to them once they have been verified by coaching staff. (Does not apply to A team fees)
