Program Overview
New for 2025
In 2025, WCAHA will phase out the traditional Learn to Play (LTP) program and introduce a new intramural league focused on fun, skill-building, and local play for ages 5–8. This in-house league replaces LTP and is designed to offer a more structured, engaging experience for young skaters and families. Players must complete a Learn to Play or Learn to Skate class at the Bellingham Sportsplex before registering.
2025-26 League Teams
All teams, with exception to the intramural teams, participate in league play with PCAHA (Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association), including home and away games throughout the season. Most teams play weekend games locally and in the Lower Mainland of BC.
U9 PCAHA: Our U9 PCAHA team is in addition to our Intramural Program and is designed to introduce players who will be moving up to U11 next year to full-ice games with offsides and icing. Players born in 2017 are strongly encouraged to sign up. Practices will be scheduled based on ice availability, and the team will play a PCAHA league schedule of 8–12 games, with games split between Bellingham and the Lower Mainland of BC.
C Level: Our C teams play one game a week and have two week night practices throughout the season.
A Level: Our A teams play two games a week. They have two consistant weeknight practices each week and have priority over weekday morning ice and extra weekend ice to get a third practice in. These teams are for players looking for a higher level of competition and commitment.

Scholarships
The WCAHA scholarship program exists to help reduce the financial costs associated with participation in the sport of hockey.
Scholarships are available to families who demonstrate financial need based upon a set of predetermined criteria. The scholarship committee will make awards based on demonstrated need as well as other non-financial factors.
The application process steps MUST be completed as follows:
1. Register with WCAHA and pay the $150 registration fee
2. Register with USA Hockey
3. Submit completed APPLICATION by September 1 in advance of the current season.
